brianwilliams82 With their 4th album, Algebra finally step out of the shadows of classic thrash bands and come into their own. Gone are the sections of tracks that sounded like they were wholesale lifted from the golden years, replaced by a much more confident approach. Sinewy leads permeate the groove-based, quasi-technical songs, making quite a memorable listen. High praise deserved all round for this one!

WaitingfortheTurningPoint I hated Algebra in high school so I nearly didn’t give this band a listen due to the name. Glad I did though, this is badass thrash that shows shades of many of the 90s big names but manages to keep its own identity solely intact! Favorite track: Kleptomaniac.

Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max.
